About the Artist
As an accomplished potter specializing in small batch functional and decorative pieces, themarypotter’s journey started as a hobby in 1993. Over the years, her passion grew, leading her to establish a dedicated studio in Burlington, Ontario. Her work centers around creating unique and distinctive pieces, with a particular affinity for decorative Raku-fired pottery. She takes pride in crafting functional pieces adorned with intricate hand-painted designs, employing diverse carving techniques, and showcasing her signature sculpted motif: the goldfish. She constantly strives to refine her craftsmanship, exploring new artistic possibilities while aiming to strike a harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetics in her work.
