Mary Goh

Mary’s ceramic journey began in 1993, evolving from a casual interest into a personal pursuit committed to artistic excellence.

At the core of Mary's practice lies an unwavering dedication to precision and quality. With a discerning eye for detail, she meticulously refines every facet of her creations, from the careful selection of materials to the intricate firing processes.

Inspired by nature, Mary's creations embody a seamless fusion of form and function. Through an array of sophisticated decorative techniques—ranging from hand painting to intricate carving and glazing—she imbues each piece with a distinct character and timeless elegance.

Though Mary is passionate about learning every technique of the trade out there, she finds herself drawn specifically to the Raku firing method. Many of her favoured pieces are Raku-fired, and adorned with her signature motif: the Goldfish.

The above was written by her daughter; as a humble artist, she would never speak so highly of her own work.
